ISAT Preparation Classes

About the ISAT

The ISAT test is offered by ACER. It is a requirement for international students applying to medicine, dentistry, veterinary science and physiotherapy courses at a selection of Australian universities. The ISAT test in Singapore will be available from mid-March 2017 to mid-February 2018 and the registration is already open. (By the way, International Plaza is a convenient location in the city to take the test!)
It is mandatory for the following schools:

  • Flinders University – International undergraduate pathway
  • Monash University, Melbourne – Undergraduate Medicine
  • Monash University, Malaysian campus – Undergraduate Medicine
  • University of Limerick – Occupational Therapy
  • University of Limerick – Speech and Language Therapy
  • University of New South Wales (UNSW) – Undergraduate Medicine
  • University of Queensland – Medicine
  • University of Queensland – Dental Science
  • University of Tasmania – Undergraduate Medicine (Faculty of Medicine link)
  • University of Tasmania – Undergraduate Medicine – 2 (International students link)
  • University of Western Australia (UWA) – International Student Pathway to graduate-entry Medicine & Dentistry

ISAT Test format

100 questions in 3 hours. ISAT is administered as a computer-based test through Prometric Inc. centers around the world. There are no sections and breaks so it does end up being a slightly exhausting test (Tip: avoid drinking too much coffee right before the test)! The ISAT is designed to test a student’s quantitative and critical reasoning skills. While there are no long equations for you to solve, it does present application based questions. Data representation, logical reasoning and graphical interpretation form a part of the Quant. The Critical Reasoning portion tests comprehension skills, image interpretation, quote analysis and debates.

ISAT Scores: The raw score is converted to a scaled score from 100 to 200. Based on the ISAT scores of some of our students and trainers we have noticed that a score of 179 corresponds to about the 81st percentile while a score of 191 corresponds to the 99th percentile. Typically, you should aim for a score above the 80th percentile to be on the safe side and secure an interview with the school of your choice.

How can Prep Zone help?

Prep Zone offers both group and individualised ISAT test preparation to student. A major challenge that students face is the lack of practice materials available. While ACER offers a sample paper and one practice test with 50 questions, there are not many other practice materials available. Having taken the ISAT themselves (and scoring above the 90th percentile), our expert trainers have created relevant content to help students ace it as well! The classes are completely customisable to suit your learning abilities and divided between Quantitative Reasoning and Critical Reasoning.
