MCAT Preparation Classes

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized, multiple-choice exam administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) as a part of the medical school admissions process.

About the MCAT

Almost all medical schools in the United States and Canada, many in Australia, and Duke-NUS in Singapore require applicants to submit recent MCAT scores as part of their application, and many health professions and graduate programs now accept MCAT in lieu of other standardized tests.

The MCAT Test Format

The MCAT test examines the skills and knowledge medical educators and physicians have identified as key prerequisites for success in medical school and in the practice of medicine. MCAT has four sections – Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.

Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems

The section asks you to solve problems by combining your knowledge of chemical and physical foundational concepts with your scientific inquiry and reasoning skills.

Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems

The section asks you to solve problems by combining your knowledge of biological and biochemical fundamental concepts with your scientific inquiry and reasoning skills.

Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior

The section asks you to solve problems by combining your knowledge of psychological, social, and biological foundational concepts with your scientific inquiry and reasoning skills.

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills

The section asks you to read and think about passages from a wide range of disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, followed by a series of questions that lead you through the process of comprehending, analyzing, and reasoning.
